Mrs. Melva Carlos Hebert, 89 years young, passed unto God’s Loving hands-on Monday, February 21, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. Hebert was a native and resident of Chauvin, LA.


Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 9:30am until Mass time at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, LA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at St. Joseph Church beginning at 11:30am.  Burial will follow services in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Hebert is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Mr. Reis Hebert her only daughter, Roxanne Hebert Theriot and husband Barry Theriot of Bourg, LA, Grandson, Hunter Jason Theriot, of Nashville, Tennessee, Grand-daughter, Brooke Theriot Brunet and husband Coby Brunet of Bourg, two Great-grandchildren, Brayden Brunet, and Cohen Brunet.  Mrs. Hebert is also survived by two living siblings: brother, Durle Carlos and wife Barbara, sister, Yvonne Carlos Charpentier and husband Carroll Charpentier. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hebert was preceded in death by her Parents, Henry Carlos, and Mother Aline Chiasson Carlos, Her one and only son Derrel James Hebert, siblings: John “Beo” Carlos, Caroline “Toby” Carlos Martin, and Marion Carlos Thibodeaux Monk.  In-laws: Henry and Julienne Duplantis Hebert, numerous relatives and in-laws


Mrs. Hebert showed her love to all.  Her strong Faith and love for Christ was shown in her deeds and the way in which she lived.  She loved all, and was a stranger to none!  She will be missed, Rest in God’s Arms, Maw. Until we meet again, Praise Be to God!

The family would like to express thanks to all of the caregivers and friends who showed their love and kindness during the last stage of her life.  Special thanks to Haydel Memorial Hospice, especially Mrs. Eva Fitch, Nurse Robin, and Keith Weisheit. Finally, special thanks to Philip and Belinda Thibodeaux for all their love and support during this time, and throughout our lives.
