May 5, 1967 – December 17, 2021

Nikki Dawn Carpenter was born May 5, 1967. She grew up in Konawa, OK where she was a great student and a friend to many in the community. This is the place she would always consider her home no matter how far away she got from it. She graduated from East Central State University with both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the specialty of child psychology. At one point, Nikki directed a children’s shelter, and she spent most of her professional life in the aiding of children who needed it most. She always claimed her own children to be her greatest accomplishment. She was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a wife, and a friend. Nikki passed away on December 17, 2021. She will be missed.

Nikki is survived by: her mother, Jane Russell of Houma, LA. Her father and stepmother, Jack and Pat Russell of Vamoosa, OK. Her husband, John Carpenter of Houma, LA. Her sons, William Coats of Baton Rouge, LA and Christopher Carpenter of Houma, LA. Her brothers, Jimmy Russell of Ada, OK and Bryan Russell of Konawa, OK. And her nieces, Ashley, Kayleigh, Echo, Brylea, and Brynlee.
