Penny Sentilles Abreo, age 56, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Penny was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Bernadette on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.


Penny is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Aaron M. Abreo; sons, Andrew P. Abreo and wife Maddison, Grant M. Abreo; granddaughters, Camille and Penelope Abreo; brothers; Wayne Michael Sentilles, Terry John Sentilles (Linda), Bryan Joseph Sentilles (Brenda), Robert Paul Sentilles (Sheila); sister, Nancy Sentilles Gleber. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Penny is preceded in death by her parents, Saar and Barbara Sentilles; brother, Eric James Sentilles; nephew, Bryan Joseph Sentilles; sister-in-law, Debbie Sentilles and brother-in-law, John Gleber III.

Penny was a loving and caring wife, mother and Meemaw. She loved all things beautiful and enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Penny loved to bake, traveling with her husband, cross stitching, and watching the Saints. She was retired as a teacher with the public school system and was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She was diagnosed with ALS fifteen years ago and was blessed to have the many years to love her family and friends. Penny was an inspiration to people with ALS while fighting her own battles she always kept her faith. She is now reunited with her family who passed before her and rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
