Rona Theresa Picou Rodrigue, age 93, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 6:25 a.m. She was a native of Chauvin and a resident of Houma, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in Terrebonne Memorial Park.
Rona is survived by her sons, Nelton Joseph Rodrigue, Jr. and wife, Charlene, and Russell Anthony Rodrigue and wife, Patricia; daughters, Sheila Marie Authement, and Pamela Virgin Rodrigue; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Rodrigue; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Rona is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Nelton Joseph Rodrigue, Sr.; parents, Elam Joseph and Pearl Gray Picou; sons, Mark Andrew Rodrigue, and Freddie Joseph Rodrigue and wife, Charlotte; son-in-law, Michael Authement; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Rona was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the owner of Rodrigue’s Nursery. She enjoyed playing bingo, working at the Evergreen Lions Club, walking in the mall, dancing, doing crossword puzzles, and most of all spending time with family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all whose hearts she touched.
Due to Covid19 and CDC regulations, family and friends attending services are required to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
