Sherm Schexnayder, 60, a native of Chauvin, La, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.
A memorial visitation will be held in his honor on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Samart Funeral Home, 4511 West Park Ave., from 9:00 am till 11:30 am followed by the funeral time at 11:30 am.
He is survived by his daughter Danielle Schexnayder; grandchildren, Brayden and Brennan Breaux, Boston and Brielle Schexnayder; sister, Roxanne Schexnayder Williams (Tim); niece, Nicole Williams Dunn (Derek) ; nephew, Tim Williams II (Katherine); and special family member, Dawn Billiot Roussell (Carlos)
He is preceded in death by his father Marc Schexnayder Jr.; mother, Edwina Brunet Schexnayder; grandparents, Marc Schexnayder and Alice Rome Schexnayder, Eddie Andrew Brunet and Louella Guidry Brunet
Sherm was a boat captain for years, and later worked as a charter fisherman out of Cocodrie, LA. He had a special place in his heart for his two dogs, Diesel and Jazzy. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. You could always find him at Tradewinds Marina or at a ball field. Sherm loved coaching and watching the youth in his community excel in any and all sports. Most of all, he loved watching his grandkids play sports and taking them out on the water to share his love for fishing. Sherm was dearly loved and will be missed by many.
