A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ordoyne Funeral Home and will continue on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church from 8:00 AM until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM at the church with burial following in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Marie Prejean Morvant; children, Weavis Morvant, Jr. and companion Lynne Guilbeau, Janice Granier and husband Vance, Nancy Bernard and husband Christopher; grandchildren, Justin Morvant, Sr. and wife Hali, Anita Morvant; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Morvant, Justin Morvant, Jr. and Angelyn Boudreaux.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gillis and Julia Percle Morvant; brothers, Harris, Artney, Wilbert and Joseph Morvant; sisters, Lillian Adams and Lovinia Morvant
Weavis enjoyed sitting outside on his swing and making a garden, especially growing tomatoes.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Kathy LeCompte for the loving and compassionate care she provided as well as John with Divinity Home Health, Dr. T Gregory Chaisson and the staff Hospice of South Louisiana.
Ordoyne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
