Willard Paul Henry, born on July 17, 1942, a native of Chauvin and a resident of Houma, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the age of 79.


A visitation will be held in his honor on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Samart Funeral Home on West Park from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. The burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery on Bayou Blue.

He is survived by his sons, Alexander Clark Henry, and Tracy Paul Henry; daughter, Jennifer Henry Trosclair (Jereme); sisters-in-law, Gerri Haire (Harvey) and Mary Todd (Hardy).

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Sandra Anne Clark Henry; son, Richard Allen Henry; Paula Anne Henry; parents, Clovis Tourville Henry, Jr. and Elda Benoit; brothers, Hyman A. Henry (Annabelle), Russell J. Henry (Gardeline); sisters, Albertine Henry Dupre (Willard), Fonseca (Hubert), Barbara Marie St. Pierre (Daniel); aunts and uncles, Bernice Benoit (Andrew Prosperie, Sr.), Modeste Benoit (Lovelace Authement), and Foster J. Benoit; half aunts and uncles, Celestine (Herbert Cuneo), Bernice (Alley Trosclair), and Magnes Henry Sr. (Inez Pellegrin).


Willard enjoyed traveling and trying new restaurants with his children on weekends. He also enjoyed cooking and taking care of his dogs. He worked for Dressor Magcobar for 25 years, and then Monteiro Towing where he was given the opportunity to obtain his license to become a tugboat captain. Willard was a proud veteran, serving his country in the US Army. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
