William H. “Bill” Ferguson Jr., 80, passed away peacefully on Nov. 27, 2021.  He was a native of New York and a resident of Houma.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Laura Hamburger Ferguson; son William H. Ferguson (wife Beth); and daughter Laura Susan Ferguson.  He had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents William Ferguson Sr. and Grace Oakley McClanahan both of New York, as well as his loving daughter Elizabeth Grace Long.

Bill was the proprietor of a marine and commercial HVAC service company in Houma “W.H. Ferguson & Son” since 1976, working with oil field companies, local shipbuilders, as well as in the seafood processing industry.

Bill was a Vietnam veteran who served six years in the US Army with the 101st Airborne Division with time spent overseas in Okinawa.


Burial will be at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, LA.  A flag folding ceremony will be held at the graveside with military honors.
