Dear Editor,

As specialist of two of this year’s American Cancer Society Relay For Life Events – Relay For Life of Lafourche – Thibodaux, and Relay For Life of Lafourche – Larose, I would like to thank everyone for their generosity and support. In both Relays, a total of 65 teams joined in this year’s Relay For Life and raised $335,000 to help save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. I am so proud of our community for standing up to cancer to finish the fight. Approximately 120 survivors walked the opening laps in both Relays, and inspired those currently battling cancer. Our Luminaria Ceremony showed the community’s warmth and strength in caring for those who are no longer with us.

I would also like to thank the many Relay For Life volunteers, committee members, and teams who worked to make this year’s event a success. We certainly want to thank our corporate sponsors for their support, which made all of this possible. Our sponsors may be seen on our websites, at: www.relayforlife.org/thibodauxla for Thibodaux, and at www.relayforlife.org/larosela for Larose.

The 2015 Relay For Life will be forming soon. If you would like to help make next year’s event an even bigger success and work toward the time we no longer hear the words “you have cancer,” call 985-791-5598, or visit RelayForLife.org for more information.
