This Sunday is Father’s Day. In honor of all our Dads living and dead, I would like to dedicate this column to them. I would like to thank them for the love, dedication, motivation, and the faith and good example they passed on to us. I want to use some great quotations that sum up the inspiration and motivation we received.

On motivation: “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily,” Zig Ziglar

“Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it,” Lee Holz

“You have all the reason in the world to achieve your grandest dreams. Imagination plus motivation equals realization,” Denis Waitley

On happiness: “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful,” Albert Schweitzer

“Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are: something to do, something to love and something to hope for,” Joseph Addison

“The supreme happiness of life is the conviction of being loved for yourself, or, more correctly, being loved in spite of yourself,” Victor Hugo

“We are not here to be successful. We are here to be faithful,” Mother Teresa

On Love: “Love is shown in your deeds not in your words,” Fr. Jerome Cummings

“Love has the innate ability to look past the human and see the godly,” Colette Burnham

“The whole worth of a kind deed is in the love that inspires it,” The Talmud

“Love of our neighbor consists of three things: to desire the greater good of everyone, to do what good we can when we can, and to bear, excuse and hide others’ faults,” St. John Vianney

“Love cures people – both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it,” Dr. Karl Menninger

“Power coerces, knowledge persuades, love converts,” Author unknown

On forgiveness: “To forgive is the highest, most beautiful form of love. In return, you will receive untold peace and happiness,” Robert Muller

“Forget past mistakes. Forget failures. Forget everything except what you’re going to do now and do it,” William Durant

“I believe the time we really look big in a child’s eyes is when we go to them and apologize for our mistakes and we say, ‘I was wrong. Will you forgive me?’” Kevin Leman

“One of the secrets of a long and fruitful life is to forgive everybody, everything, every night before you go to bed,” Bernard M. Baruch

On faith: “Your religion is where your love is,” Henry David Thoreau

“Treasure the love you receive above all. It will survive long after your gold and good health have vanished,” Og Mandino

“The more faithfully you listen to the voice within you, the better you will hear what is sounding outside,” Dag Hammarskjold

“Love is life. All, everything that I understand, I understand only because I love. Everything is, everything exists, only because I love. Everything is united by it alone. Love is God, and to die means that I, a particle of love, will return to the general and eternal source,” Leo Tolstoy

“I am a big believer in the ‘mirror test’. All that matters is if you can look in the mirror and honestly tell the person you see there, that you’ve done your best,” John McKay

“Real maturity is the ability to imagine the humanity of every person as fully as you believe in your own humanity,” Tobias Wolff

“The human heart refuses to believe in a universe without a purpose,” Immanuel Kant

All of us have a purpose. We thank all fathers for carrying out your purpose. Happy Father’s Day!
