Winter warning prevailed

Dear Editor,

In light of the recent extreme winter weather in Terrebonne Parish, I would like to personally thank residents for heeding the call from officials to avoid traveling on local roadways. 

While we were fortunate that the weather didn’t become as severe as expected, we took every precaution to ensure that the parish could resume normal activities and services as soon as conditions were safe. 

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to all the first responders and Terrebonne Parish employees who stood ready to answer emergencies during this event.

This experience was an important reminder that we as residents of Terrebonne Parish should always have a plan to protect ourselves and our families in the event of severe weather – including snow and ice.
