OK, so we all know Drew Brees is rollin’ in the dough!

We think that’s what it’s called when one signs a $100 million contract – us newspaper types don’t know what that life is like.

But what will our beloved quarterback do with all of that money?

We know Drew is a father – it’s safe to assume a healthy bundle will be deposited at a toy store or two along the way.

If the kids are happy, then wife Brittany better be happy, too. Because we all know the old saying about what happens if momma isn’t happy, right?

Rumor has it that Brees shops Jared. Sources have yet to confirm whether that is true.

No matter his jeweler of choice, the quarterback has options – 100 million options.

We’re here to help.

Below is a list of the things that Brees could buy with his newfound fortune.

No pressure, Drew.

Spend on anything you’d like.

We just thought that you’d maybe need some assistance.

5 things one could buy with $100 million

1. iPad and MacBook Pro – Everyone needs a little technology in their lives, right? Heck, NFL teams are moving playbooks onto iPads, too.

The bill: $100 million can buy Brees 45,475 15-inch MacBook Pro’s from the nearest Mac store. It can also supply the Brees gang with 200,400 new iPads. Not bad.

2. The latest in local news – We, at the Tri-Parish Times, are not above shameless self-promotion. We are formally announcing today that we would gladly agree to pay the shipping charges to mail subscriptions to the Brees’ home.

The bill: $100 million can buy Brees more than 10 million one-year subscriptions to the Tri-Parish Times. That’s a lot of news. And heck, when expired, that’s a lot of table coverings for a crawfish boil.

3. Luxury vehicles – With a growing family, Brees should cherry-pick Dick Barker Mazda in Houma to get new wheels. The 2013 Mazda CX-5 Touring would be a good start.

The bill: $100 million can buy Brees 3,539 Mazda CX-5 Touring vehicles. If he wants more quantity, he can buy more than 4,000 2012 Mazda 6 cars.

4. Entire city blocks – The average cost of a home in Houma is $203,626, according to website www.trulia.com. If we then make an estimate that there are 15 homes per street in Houma, then Brees could buy whole city blocks if he so-chose.

The bill: At $203,626 per home and 15 homes per street, Brees could buy a total of 32 local streets. Take your pick, Mr. Brees. Anything for our franchise quarterback.

5. Plenty of gas – Gas is pretty expensive – it’s more costly than it used to be. But $100 million can fill up quite a few tanks. It may be a good investment for a traveling man.

The bill: At $3.19 per gallon, Brees can buy more than 30 million gallons of gas. That’s enough to tank up 1.5 million vehicles with a 20-gallon tank.

An Apple iPad is one of the hottest technologies in the modern world. After signing a $100 million contract extension, Drew Brees can buy more than 200,000 such devices.
