Nine coaches are vying to be South Lafourche High School’s next football coach.

The school released a list of applicants for its vacant football position, a job that came open this past November when the school relieved Brandon Nowlin of his duties.

The list features mostly assistant coaches and coordinators from around the state of Louisiana, but it does have a few others with head coaching experience.

Only one local coach applied, H.L. Bourgeois offensive coordinator Blake Forsythe.

The school’s task will now be to narrow the candidates to finalists, then to make a hire – a move they hope to do before the Mardi Gras Holiday.

Below is the list of applicants for the position, listed in alphabetical order by last name.

-Ed Betsworth- Head football coach Cedar Valley Christian School, Cedar Rapides, IA

-Troy Borne- Special teams coordinator at Lutcher High School

-Roddy Chiasson- Offensive Coordinator St. Martinville High School

-Blake Forsythe- Offensive Coordinator H.L. Bourgeois High School

-Jarvious Grayson- Assistant football coach Bogalusa High School

-John Hill- Defensive Coordinator- Marksville High School

-Todd Scott- Offensive Coordinator Midwest City, Oklahoma

-Andy Stallings- Defensive Coordinator Baptist Prep High School, Little Rock, AR

-Cecil Thomas- Former head football coach at Hammond High School

The Houma Times will be following the search to its completion. Check back for more updates as they become available.
