One of the most anticipated sports weekends of the summer officially has set its time and place.

Officials with both the Manning Passing Academy and Nicholls State University confirmed this week that the camp will be on the Thibodaux campus from June 22-25.

That means that the Air-It-Out Passing Challenge, which is open to the public, will be hosted at John L. Guidry Stadium on June 24 at 6:30 p.m.

Advance tickets for the event can be purchased online for $12 at www.geauxcolonels.com. Tickets are available at the door, but cost $15.

The event features a competition among some of the top college quarterbacks in the country. In the contest, the passers have to hit moving targets at different depths and distances.

Before the contest, the passers put on a passing showcase to the audience, showcasing the brilliance of the athletes on the field.

The passing academy is regarded as one of the top football camps in the country.

Hosted by former New Orleans Saints great Archie Manning, as well as his sons, retired NFL great Peyton Manning and New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, campers get to soak in the knowledge given out by some of the best quarterbacks of all-time.
