KENNER: The E.D. White volleyball team is one step closer to a State Championship.

The No. 2 Cardinals punched their ticket into the Division III State Semifinals on Thursday morning, scoring a 4-set win over No. 7 Hannan.

E.D. White won the first, second and fourth sets (25-18, 25-18, 25-13). Hannan’s victory came in the third set (23-25).

E.D. White’s balanced offense and dominant defense were integral in the win.

The Lady Cardinals swarmed Hannan with countless runs to control the match from start-to-finish.

With the win, E.D. White will now take on the winner between No. 3 Westlake and No. 6 Lutcher. Those teams play later today.

That match will take place tomorrow at 11:50 a.m.

The Lady Cardinals have not played Westlake yet this season, but they have rolled past Lutcher twice – both in decisive straight-set wins.
