wo key players on Nicholls’ 2018 Championship team are off to the highest level to continue their careers.

Receiver Damion Jeanpiere Jr. and defensive tackle Ronald Ollie both signed contracts with NFL teams last weekend after going undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jeanpiere signed with the Carolina Panthers, while Ollie received a deal with the Oakland Raiders.

Both players land in the NFL with accolades as Colonels.

Jeanpiere was a four-year letter winner and arguably the biggest big-play threat the Colonels have had under coach Tim Rebowe.

He caught 44 passes for 850 yards with three scores last year and he departed the program with 2,324 career receiving yards. Jeanpiere is also a weapon in the special teams game.

Ollie is a two-year Colonel. He sat out 2017, but returned to the team in 2018 and was a force, recording 13.5 tackles for loss with 5 sacks for a Nicholls defense that was fierce.

Ollie will go to an Oakland team desperately trying to improve its defense after a rough season in 2018 under first-year coach Jon Gruden.
