The Nicholls football team signed four future Colonels in the early signing period, which took place earlier this week.

The Colonels signed three high school players and a transfer from Arkansas and all four players are skill position players.

The Colonels signed two defensive backs – Dutchtown High School standout Jordan Jackson and also Derrick Munson, who graduated from Rummel, but who is a transfer from Arkansas.

Munson earned two letters for the Razorbacks, recording 14 tackles last season. He will be eligible to play right away at Nicholls.

On the offensive side, the Colonels added pass catchers to the mix, inking Hancock High School (Mississippi) receiver Brooks Rayburn and John Curtis tight end Levon Williams – two players who can potentially earn time right away in quarterback Chase Fourcade’s senior season.

The Colonels have holes to fill, but also have talent back at their disposal.

The team loses 27 seniors, but will return 9 of the 15 players who earned All-Conference honors.

Coach Tim Rebowe said he and his staff will work tirelessly in the coming weeks to finish the class before February.
