Lunch-goers will have a chance to fill up their bellies for a good cause Friday afternoon.

That’s because SL7 Basketball is sponsoring its First-Annual Dig-In with Sumar Leslie Luncheon at Dumas Auditorium.

The lunch event will serve fish jambalaya plates for $7 a piece.

The proceeds for the lunch event will go to benefit former Vandebilt Catholic and Nicholls State women’s basketball player Sumar Leslie, as she begins her ascent to the professional level.

Leslie, who recently signed with an agent, said she needs the money for travel expenses.

She is set to begin her overseas career in late-August.

“Anything that anyone can do to help us out would be much appreciated,” Leslie said. “The weather looks like it’ll be great and the food will be even better. This will be a great event.”

For more information about the event, those interested are asked to contact SL7 Basketball via email at sumarlesliebasketball@gmail.com or to call 985-870-1832.

Dig-In with Sumar Leslie is set for Friday at Dumas Auditorium in Houma.
