E.D. White boys’ cross country wins 3A State Title

We have two local state cross country champions!

Earlier, we reported that the Vandebilt girls’ cross country team won the Class 4A State Championship.

Just a few hours after the final piece of confetti dropped on that win, another local shined, as E.D. White’s boys’ team secured the Class 3A Title.

The Cardinals secured 72 points to outlast runner-up Erath, who placed second.

E.D. White trailed at the one-mile mark, but their endurance and strength pushed them into the lead at the 2-mile mark and into the winner’s circle at the finish line.

Braedon Methvin paced the Cardinals, finishing third in the individual race.

Other Cardinals to score were Owen Tauzin (13th), Reece Shelby (15th), Carson Babin (20th) and Layne Cortez (21st).
