Two local private high schools are searching for a head football coach for the 2019 season.

Both E.D. White and Vandebilt Catholic have vacancies after Cardinals coach Chris Bergeron resigned and Terriers coach Jeremy Atwell was not tendered a contract by the school for the 2019-20 year.

Both coaches led their teams to the playoffs last year and have had success.

Bergeron said he made his decision because he wanted to spend more time with his family. He will remain at E.D. White as an educator and will be an assistant coach with the football team.

Atwell has indicated that he will continue coaching in the future, as well.

For more on the personnel changes, read the paper edition of The Times next Wednesday.
