The 40th Annual Houma Tunnel Run took place two weekends ago. As always, the race was a big hit, attracting people of all ages from all over the area. Here are results from the day, covering both the men’s and women’s races. Results are provided by SplitSecond LLC. We assume all name spellings and times are accurate.

MALE RACE:


On the men’s side, Chad Callais stood tall and got a fairly easy victory. The local marathoner completed the race in a time of 17-minutes, 17-seconds.

That title-winning pace was a full minute faster than Houma native Matt Kelso, who was the runner-up with an 18-minute, 17-second finish.

FEMALE RACE:

On the female side, more than 120 competitors competed and Khanh Labat outlasted all runners with a time of 21-minutes, 19-seconds.

Labat’s time was the 10th-fastest time of the day for all runners, and it was almost three full minutes better than Caroline Haydel’s runner-up time.


Elizabeth Jordan finished third place, completing the race in 24-minutes, 22-seconds. Olivia Girouard was fourth.

This year’s 40th Annual Houma Tunnel Run honored Dr. Dicky Haydel for 40 years of outstanding service to the event. Dr. Hayden is pictured at right. The 40th edition of the run was a success. Well more than 200 people turned out and completed the race. Chad Callais won the men’s race and Khanh Labat won the woman’s race.
