This past weekend at the Baseball Youth All-American Game in Conroe, TX, four kids from the surrounding area showcased their talent as a part of the championship team. Evan Arcement, Carter Douglas, Owen Porche and Mike Rhodes of the LBA Naturals 13u Blue team all participated in the showcase.

“We had four kids from our LBA team that went together, and they were all able to get on the same team there. They had kids from Kansas, Texas, Michigan, from all over the place on this team, and then that team ended up winning the tournament,” said Matt Porche, father of Owen Porche.

All four kids were part of Team Patriot, which went on to win the championship game at the event. Porche pitched two shutout innings in the game while striking out four batters and Douglas took home the Team MVP award. Arcement was awarded the Defensive Wizard award.

In five games, the four boys hit six home runs between them, with Douglas leading the way with three of his own. All four also participated in the Home Run Derby at the tournament, with Arcement and Rhodes tying for second place, only one home run behind the winner.

“They all contributed, played and represented this area very well,” said Porche.
