Nicholls State University will hold an old timers softball game and a alumni baseball games on Feb. 3 – all before its annual First Pitch Banquet.

The softball game will start at 9:30 a.m. on Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field with the alumni game taking place after at approximately 11 a.m.


To play, participants will be charged $25, but it covers the price of a jersey, cap, food and drinks.

All former Colonels are invited to attend, but are encouraged to RSVP.

At night, Nicholls will host its First Pitch Banquet, which will be presented by the Sports Medicine Center of Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.


This year’s event will feature two-time World Series Champion and LSU baseball legend, Ryan Theriot, as the special guest.

Theriot will host a Q&A on stage with fan interaction.

The banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m. and it will be held inside the Conference Center at TRMC’s Wellness Center.


In addition to Theriot, fans will hear from current Nicholls players and coaches about the upcoming baseball season.

Season ticket packages will also be on sale in advance of a highly competitive home schedule for Nicholls this spring. 

Nicholls said that a limited number of eight-seat reserved tables are still available to the banquet for $600. There are also general admission seats available for $60.
