We now know when Nicholls State University’s home football games will kick off in the 2018 season.
The Colonels’ Athletic Department released kickoff times for Nicholls’ home schedule on Wednesday and there is not much variety to the time schedule.
Nicholls’ first four home games will kick off at 3 p.m. The annual season finale against Southeastern Louisiana will be played under the lights at 6 p.m.
This could be a special season for the Colonels.
Nicholls is ranked No. 15 in the FCS in the recent HERO Sports Poll – the highest preseason ranking the Colonels have enjoyed in more than a decade.
The will open their home schedule against Sam Houston State on Sept. 22. The Bearkats open the poll at No. 8.
Nicholls has lost 11-straight games to Sam Houston, including last year’s blowout loss – the only lopsided defeat Nicholls endured all year.
Family Day at Nicholls is set for the next weekend – coinciding with the team’s home game versus Lamar on Sept. 29.
The team also hosts Incarnate Word (Oct. 27), Stephen F. Austin (Nov. 10) and Southeastern Louisiana (Nov. 15) in its 5-game home slate.
Nicholls would like to remind fans that the schedule times are tentative and can change to accommodate TV time slots which may open up throughout the year.
