Some really good golfers are battling Ellendale Country Club this week at the Options for Independence Houma Classic.
So far through two days, the golf course is winning the majority of those battles.
A late-spring cool front has dropped temperatures out of the 80s and into the 70s this week, while also bringing gusty winds into the area.
Those winds, combined with dry, firm greens have posed a challenge for golfers in the first two days of the event.
As of the morning flight on Thursday afternoon, the leaderboard was bunched with Drew Evans and Hunter Smith in the lead at 6-under par.
A slew of other players trailed with 14 players within four shots of the lead.
But conditions are likely to change.
Rain is forecast for Friday and Saturday, which may slow down greens and lower scores.
