Eight local teams have made the LHSAA boys high school basketball playoffs!  Here's how the first round has shaped up:

Congratulations to Thibodaux-based cowgirls Jenna and Jessie Scrivner, who recently took home several awards at the Legends 37 Youth Rodeo in Mississippi!

Yesterday, the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government officially re-opened the Southland Field at Big Joe Teuton Park. Officials then stayed to watch the first college baseball game hosted in Houma in 13 years.

The Lafourche Bassmasters High School Fishing Team recently hosted their January 2024 Club Tournament in Lockport-- and the bite was on! All nine participating teams brought a 5-fish limit to the scales for a grand total of 75.72 lbs.

Congratulations to Thibodaux High School senior Tucker Carlos, who recently signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Coastal Alabama Community College beginning in the Fall of 2024. 

Congratulations to the Vandebilt Catholic High School Cheer Team, who recently placed Third in the Super Varsity Game Day Performance category of the National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando this past weekend!

Congratulations to Terrebonne High School senior Alex Williams, who recently signed a letter of intent to run track and cross country at the University of New Orleans beginning Fall of 2024.

With Mardi Gras Day wins, Terrebonne Girls Soccer and Vandebilt Boys Soccer advance to semifinals!

Congratulations to the Central Lafourche High School Cheer Team, who recently made school history by placing 8th out of 25 teams at the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando!

This February, the Ellender Memorial High School Baseball Team will return to their home field for the first time since Hurricane Ida in August 2021.

Congratulations to South Terrebonne High School senior Georsyn Neville, who recently signed a letter of intent to play football for Tyler Community College!

Mr. Brian Wallace has been chosen to lead the Vandebilt Catholic football program.

"We wanted to bring a chapter of the Louisiana Delta Waterfowl here to invest in our youth," said Jay Schexnayder, Chairman of the South Louisiana Chapter. "We are very excited for everything we will be able to provide to the Houma-Terrebonne Community."

Congratulations to Vandebilt Catholic High School senior Sam Kinnard, who recently signed a letter of intent to continue his track and field career at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the Fall of 2024. 

Louisiana’s Cajun Bayou Tourism is set to welcome 20 national and international teams at this year’s Y’Allstars Southern Skate Showdown, an elite roller derby competition coming to Thibodaux in February!
