Several local volleyball teams have earned the right to compete for the state championship.

Postseason brackets were released yesterday and local teams were plentiful across the state’s five brackets.

In Division I, three locals are in the field.

No. 10 H.L. Bourgeois is the highest-seeded team. They will host Hahnville in round one tomorrow.

That match should be a battle. They’ve played twice this season. The Lady Braves won both matches in 5 sets.

No. 11 Terrebonne is also in the field. They will take on No. 22 Acadiana at home.

On the bottom of the bracket, No. 31 Thibodaux earned a bid. They will take on state power No. 2 Mandeville in the opening round.

In Division II, Vandebilt Catholic will set out to earn another state title as the No. 4 seed. They will host Istrouma in the opening round.

South Lafourche is also at home. They earned the No. 16 seed and will take on No. 17 Landry-Walker.

Ellender also punched a ticket into postseason. They earned the No. 26 seed and will travel to face the Academy of Our Lady, the No. 7 seed.

In Division III, E.D. White is one of the top dogs, earning the No. 2 seed. They will host No. 31 Sci Academy in the opening round.

And in Division IV, Houma Christian is in, earning the No. 19 seed. They will take on No. 14 Evangel in the first round.
