A ladder match will determine Elite Championship Wrestling’s Louisiana Heavyweight Champion this month in Houma.

And all profits from the show will go to benefit a local charitable cause – a win/win situation for everyone involved.

The local wrestling group announced this week that it will partner with K3yz For Kids to host its “Vertical Victory” event on Aug. 26.

The opening card’s opening bell will ring at 5 p.m., and all the action will take place at the Houma Municipal Auditorium.

All tickets for the event are $10 and proceeds will benefit the K3yz For Kids organization, who will in turn donate the proceeds to participate in the Blessed By Downs Southeast Buddy Walk, which will be held Sept. 22 in Thibodaux.

The main event of the night of action will be a ladder match for the organization’s heavyweight title between John Saxxon and Scott Phoenix.

The two local grapplers fought for the first time this past weekend at the wrestling group’s Era of Madness show.

Saxxon won that bout under shady circumstances and alleged outside interference.

The misdeeds caused a rematch to be ordered and a ladder match to decide the title.

Also scheduled to appear at the wrestling show will be Elite Championship Wrestling’s tag team champions Da Bayou Boys, who defeated the Dark Angels in July to win the gold.

Purple Haze, Steve Anthony, Mike Kaos, Clarice, Minotaur and Mustang Mike are also booked to appear.
