Congratulations to Emery Prentice and Ella Chestnut on signing their letters of intent to the LSU track and field program!

The two Vandebilt Catholic High School seniors signed letters of intent today. Coach David Malone spoke highly of the girls commenting their characters on and off the field/track. He said not only are the girls outstanding human beings, but they also broke school records which prove they are among the best athletes to come out of Vandebilt.

Emery Prentice is a record-breaking pole volter who is following in her father’s foot steps. He was a pole volter at LSU and their entire family loves to be involved in the sport. Coach Malone said she jumps, sprints, and will do anything you ask her to do, and that has led her to win a championship not just for herself, but for her team. Ella started track in eighth grade and Coach Malone described her as a quiet warrior. He said she knows what’s important, family, friends, and school, and she wanted to be more than just a runner. “She wanted to show everyone that you don’t have to fall into the traps of life, that you don’t have to fall into the peer pressures of life, and she decided she wanted to be the best runner that Vandebilt has ever seen.” Congratulations, ladies!
