The Louisiana High School Athletic Association released its new power rating numbers for prep football.

Several locals continue to shine.

Going into Week 10, the vast majority of local teams still have a shot to make the playoffs if things go their way in the final week of the season. That, of course, should set the stage for some drama as we push toward the end of the regular season and into the playoffs.


Here is where all locals stand, rated by class.

Class 5A:

Terrebonne – No. 17 

If playoffs started today: would be at No. 16 Airline


Central Lafourche – No. 34

If playoffs started today: second to last team out


Need: To beat No. 33 Thibodaux to get into the playoffs.

Thibodaux – No. 33


If playoffs started today: Last team out

Need: To beat No. 34 Central Lafourche to get into the field. 


H.L. Bourgeois – No. 46

If playoffs started today: Out

Need: The Braves are likely out of postseason regardless of final week.


Class 4A 

South Lafourche – No. 13

If playoffs started today: would host No. 20 Lutcher.


South Terrebonne – No. 38

If playoffs started today: Out


Needs: Likely out no matter Week 10 result against Ellender.

Ellender – No. 42


If playoffs started today: Out

Needs: Cannot advance into Top 32. 


Division II

E.D. White – No. 6 

If playoffs started today: Would host No. 11 St. Louis


Vandebilt – No. 9

If playoffs started today: Would travel to face No. 8 Hannan


Division IV

Houma Christian – No. 8

If playoffs started today: Would host No. 9 Catholic – Pointe Coupee.


CCA – No. 14

If playoffs started today: Would travel and face No. 3 Ascension Catholic.
