Our uncontrolled fears can lead us into sin

Alvin “Al” Hebert, 81, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016.

Education was Mr. Hebert’s lifelong passion. He retired from Lafourche Parish School Board after teaching and becoming an administrator, touching many lives.


He was a U.S. Army veteran, a commissioner of the Bayou Lafourche Fresh Water District, a member of the American Legion and an assistant scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hebert; son, Danny (Julie) Hebert; daughter, Cathy Babin; brothers, Harold, Ronald and Charles Hebert; sister, Dorothy “Dot” Beary; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is today at 9 a.m. at Falgout Funeral. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with a private burial at a later date.
