Three are in custody and another is sought by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office in connection with the alleged theft of an all-terrain vehicle and utility trailer in Leeville.

On July 22 at around 8:40 p.m., LPSOP deputies responded to a theft complaint at a residence located along La. High way 1 in Leeville.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that the resident had returned home and discovered that his utility trailer and ATV had been stolen.

Through investigation, authorities said they learned that the trailer was seen at a residence on New Haven Street in Raceland, proceeding to the area.

Upon arrival, authorities said they made contact with a group of men, identifying them as Jody Landry, 41, David LeBlanc, 52 and Gordon Melancon, 56.

They were standing around the stolen ATV at the time of deputy’s arrival, according to LPSO.

Deputies said they interviewed the suspects and they gave conflicting and changing stories.

Further investigation revealed that Landry had told LeBlanc and Melancon about the ATV and trailer and told them to pick it up.

Authorities said LeBlanc and Melancon then traveled to Leeville on Saturday, allegedly accompanied by Billy Bellanger Sr., 61, and stole it.

Landry, LeBlanc and Melancon were arrested and taken to the Lafourche Parish Jail.

Each is booked on one count of felony theft of a motor vehicle.

Landry also faces three counts of contempt of court.

Authorities tried to find Bellanger, but were unsuccessful. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-743-7433.

Authorities are trying to arrest Billy Bellanger. He is wanted for his alleged role in an ATV theft from Leeville. Authorities arrested three others for the crime, David LeBlanc, Gordon Melancon and Jody Landry. All three are charged with felony theft of a motor vehicle.
