Bernard Freeland Levy Sr., 64, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015.
Mr. Levy was a 35-year public servant of Terrebonne Parish. He served his community as an attorney, public defender and child advocate.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Levy; son, Bernard (Isabelle Tabor) Levy Jr.; daughters, Marion (Jeffrey) Larke and Anna (Michael Jr.) Plaisance; brothers, Stephen and Scott Levy; sisters Martha Levy, Katherine (John) Strom, Lisa (Sonny) Menard and Mary (Ben) Templeton; three grandchildren; and his canine companions, Lucy and Heather.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and CASA of Terrebonne.
Burial is at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
