2: Just two out of six local playoff teams survived the opening round of the playoffs on Friday night. Both came in Division II. Vandebilt Catholic pushed past Lusher on the road in a one-touchdown win. E.D. White stayed alive with an easier win against Loyola. The Terriers and Cardinals will now face the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the state for Division II.

3: The South Lafourche football team marched into the red zone three times on Friday night against Bastrop. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the Tarpons didn’t get any points out of the three trips, which allowed the Rams to control the action in an easy win.

48: The Central Lafourche football team liked where it stood midway through the first quarter on Friday night against Acadiana. The Trojans had just scored a touchdown on a long drive to tie the game at seven. But Acadiana dominated the action for the rest of the game, scoring 48-straight points to cruise to a win.

34: In a win or go home matchup with Lusher, Vandebilt rode sophomore halfback Brennan Rogers in a big way. The powerful halfback carried the ball 34 times in Friday night’s win, allowing Vandebilt to sustain drives.
