Carroll Theriot Sr., age 79, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, May 18, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Theriot and a resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Eloi Catholic Church on Monday, May 21; beginning at 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.


Carroll is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Adeline “Teenie” Luke Theriot; son, Carroll Theriot Jr., and wife Maria; daughter, Julie Voisin and husband, Reed; grandchildren, Christopher Voisin and wife, Samaria, Kelly Theriot Bye and husband, John, Franny Voisin and companion, Jason Vitrano, Ryan Theriot, Lindy Theriot Boss and husband, Todd, Angie Voisin and companion, Kevin Smith, Brad Theriot and wife, Joyce, and Becky Voisin and companion, Phillip Pellegrin; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers, Patrick Theriot and wife, Patty, and Hebert Theriot and wife, Vivian; sisters, Lydia Champagne and Cecile Evans; and sisters-in-law, Kim Theriot, Germaine Theriot, and Diana Theriot.

Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, John and Amay Chauvin Theriot, brothers, Clinton, Roy, and Elton Theriot; sisters, Elsie Brunet, Madge Landry; brothers-in-law, Esso Landry, Alley Marcel, Joe Champagne, and Hulett Evans; and one great-granddaughter, Kalena Voisin. Carroll was a devoted Christian of the Catholic faith. He served as a Communion Minister and Alter Server for St. Eloi Catholic Church. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired from Dresser Industries of 45 years. He loved gardening and shrimping. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His dedication and devotion to his family was always his priority.

The family would like to give a special thanks and appreciation to the Medical Team and Haydel Memorial Hospice for everything they did to make his last days comfortable and peaceful.
