Charles R. Banta III, 67, a native and resident of Chackbay, La., died on Monday, November 21, 2016.
Mr. Banta was a parish councilman for three terms, representing District 2. He helped start the CIA Sports Club and coached his sons and many children. He tried to help the community in any way possible.
He is survived by his wife, Rae Benoit Banta; sons, Charles IV (Aliana) and Blaine (Jessica) Banta; mother, Bobbie Comeaux; step-mother, Pearline Broughton; brothers, Perry and Corey Comeaux; sisters, Marais Mercer, Mary Rodrigue and Charmaine Sullivan; and four grandchildren.
Burial is at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Chackbay.
