Terrebonne arrests meth distributors


Two alleged meth distributors are off Terrebonne Parish’s streets following an early-morning raid last week.

Lucas Riley, 47, and Joshua Lewis, 30, of 3621 Euclid St., in Houma, were arrested after Terrebonne drug agents, SWAT and K-9 personnel executed a search warrant at the residence, Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said. Shenika Lewis Riley, 34, and Iyanna Lewis, 18, were also charged.

The search warrant followed a covert operation involving meth sales.


Lucas Riley and Joshua Lewis reportedly attempted to flush the evidence in the bathroom, Larpenter said.

Authorities recovered a .45-caliber Ruger P 90 – the serial number scratched off-with seven live rounds; $869 in cash; two boxes of .223 ammunition, three .45-caliber rounds and a .44-caliber round; as well as methamphetamine, heroin and, on a spoon, heroin residue, as well as marijuana and a marijuana cigar, the sheriff said.

Lucas Riley was charged on arrest warrants for three counts of distribution of a CDS Schedule II (meth) and one count principle to distribution of CDS Schedule II (meth). Larpenter said he was charged with possession of CDS 1 (heroin and marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession with intent to distribute CDS Schedule II (meth); illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of CDS and for possession a handgun with an obliterated serial number; illegal proceeds derived from distribution of a CDS; and obstruction of justice.


Joshua Lewis’ arrest warrants included possession with intent to distribute CDS Schedule II (meth); possession of a firearm while in possession of a CDS; possession of CDS Schedule I (marijuana); and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with possession of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia; possession with intent to distribute CDS Schedule II (meth); illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of a CDS; illegal possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number; and illegal proceeds derived from distribution of a CDS.

Shenika Riley was charged with possession of heron, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, as well as illegally possessing a firearm while in possession of CDS, of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and illegal proceeds derived from distribution of CDS.

Iyanna Lewis was charged with possession of heroin, marijuana drug paraphernalia, meth, a firearms while in possession of CDS, of a firearms with obliterated serial number and illegal proceeds derived from distribution of CDS.


Authorities searching for Smithridge shooter

Terrebonne authorities are on the hunt for a 34-year-old Chauvin man suspected of shooting a Smithridge man in the leg.

Around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, a shooting in the 4800 block of Bayouside Drive was reported to the Terrebonne sheriff’s office. The suspected shooter, Terry Jones Jr., fled before deputies arrived, Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said.


The 49-year-old victim’s injuries were non-threatening, and he was airlifted to a New Orleans hospital, the sheriff said.

Larpenter said Jones, the victim and his girlfriend’s son were arguing moments before the shooting. It was uncertain what the argument was about, the sheriff said.

Galliano man nabbed with child porn

Brandon Miller, 35, of Galliano, was arrested March 18 and charged with 20 counts of pornography involving juveniles and one count of felony carnal knowledge of a juveniles, Attorney General Jeff Landry said.

Miller was booked into the Lafourche Parish jail following a three-month investigation involving the AG’s Cyber Crime Unit and the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office, as well as Homeland Security Investigations, the Louisiana State Police and the Lafourche and Terrebonne sheriff’s offices.


Possessing or distributing pornography involving children is punishable by up to 20 years in prison for each count, according to the AG’s office.

Coke run-in ends with Houma man’s arrest

Leray T. Vito, 43, of Verrett Street in Houma, may have ultimately intended to buy the world a Coke, but his attempt to swipe money from a soda machine landed him in jail on criminal charges, Houma Police reported.


Officers responded to a business burglary shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday at a business in the 7500 block of Main Street. They encountered Vito, kneeling next to a damaged Coke machine, attempting to hide from police, Police Chief Dana Coleman said.

Vito admitted he tried to get money out of the machine.

Police charged Vito with unauthorized entry to a business and criminal damage to a coin-operated device.


Montegut man arrested in pawn break-in

A Montegut man was charged with attempted simple burglary after he broke into a Houma pawn shop in the wee hours of March 18.

Houma Police Chief Dana Coleman said Jody J. Neal, 28, of La. Highway 665, threw a large chunk of concrete through the front glass door at Fred’s Pawn on Tunnel Boulevard. Neal reportedly ran when the business alarm sounded.


Later that night, Neal reportedly visited the sheriff’s office to discuss an unrelated incident. Coleman said Houma Police contacted the TPSO and Neal was taken into custody. Houma Police charged him soon after.
