Gertrude LaCoste DeHart, 79, passed away surrounded by her loving family at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018. She was a Houma native and Theriot LA
Gertrude is survived by her children, Cheryl DeHart and husband, Danny Sr., Ricky DeHart and wife, Melissa, Marty DeHart Sr., Cherie DeHart and husband, Wilber Jr., and Renetta DeHart and late companion, Wesley “”Jug”” Vail Jr.; sisters, Hazel Verrett, Eula Mae Lirette and late husband, Andrew Lirette, Pearly Mae Giroir and husband, “”L.J.””, Linda Lirette and husband, Alfred, and Sharon Verdin and husband, Daniel; brothers, Ray LaCoste Jr. and wife, Mazel, Melvin LaCoste Sr. and wife, Gwen, Mark LaCoste and late, wife Connie, and Ravin LaCoste Sr. and wife, Melissa; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gertrude enjoyed quilting, reading and puzzles; her most favorite time was when she was able to spend time with her family, children and grandchildren. She had a love of people and was a great listener. Cooking was an important part of her time spent with family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Fadi AbouIssa, Christy Hebert FNP, Dr. Alain Chestnut, Dr. Richard Abben and CIS, STAT Home Health Care, Terrebonne General Medical Center and Chauvin Funeral Home for their tender care and concern they have given to our mother and our family.
Gertrude will forever be remembered and loved and never ever forgotten.
