Did you know that heart disease kills more women than all cancers combined?

Learn about the health of your heart at the 6th annual Women’s Love Your Heart Luncheon and Expo on Thursday, February 7 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at TGMC’s Medical Atrium Auditorium, 8120 Main Street.

Presented by Terrebonne General Medical Center Healthy Lifestyles Center and Cardiovascular Institute of the South, this exciting community event will include a delicious heart-healthy lunch with a cooking demonstration, a question and answer session with Dr. Charisse Ward, Interventional Cardiologist. Women’s health screenings will also be offered, including blood pressure checks and the InBody230 scale. Educational exhibits, including information on smoking cessation, vein treatment, and women’s health and weight management will also be available. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best red ensembles because there will be a “Best Dressed” prize awarded during the program.

The Love Your Heart Luncheon is an opportunity for women to come together and socialize while learning about the risk factors of heart disease and methods of prevention. Risk factors of cardiovascular disease include family history, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive.

Registration for the luncheon is required, and space is limited. Tickets are $20; register at loveyourheart2019.eventbrite.com. All proceeds will benefit The Foundation for TGMC. For more information, call 985-873-4616.
