The Nicholls football team now knows who it will compete against in new-coach Tim Rebowe’s inaugural season with the team.

The Colonels announced their 2015 football schedule this week – an 11-game slate that will pit the Colonels in games across Louisiana, Texas and beyond.

The first game of the Rebowe Era will be on Sept. 12 when Nicholls travels up the road to take on UL-Monroe in a matchup between the Southland Conference and Sun Belt.

The Sept. 12 kickoff will be a late start for the Colonels, as the vast majority of teams around the country kick off their seasons on Sept. 5.

After the opening bye week and subsequent game against the Warhawks, the Colonels will be involved in a grind.

Nicholls will play 11-straight weeks without a bye week to end the season, including the team’s first-ever season in the new nine-game Southland Conference football schedule.

Conference begins early for Nicholls, who will kick off league play on Sept. 19 in a road tilt with Incarnate Word.

After that, Nicholls will close out its non-conference slate with a Sept. 26 meeting at Pac-12 school Colorado – a game that will likely be televised on that conference’s television network.

After tangling with Colorado, Nicholls will close the season with eight-straight SLC games, including home dates with McNeese, Houston Baptist, Northwestern and Central Arkansas.
