South Lafourche senior wide receiver Larry Mack is going to college with his teammate and good friend Shak Dillon.

Just weeks after Dillon announced his verbal pledge to Coffeyville Community College in Kansas, Mack did the same, confirming to The Times this week that he will attend the two-year college with hopes of playing for a bigger program in the future.

Mack has a college body, standing 6-feet, 3-inches and weighing 188 pounds. He missed the first half of the 2015 season after both he and Tarpons quarterback Harvey Allen (a Nicholls commit) were injured as passengers in a one-car wreck in Houma.

Mack said it’s a blessing and a huge source of motivation to have a college home.

“I can’t wait,” Mack said. “It’s an honor and a dream to be able to say that I’ll be at that level. I can’t wait to get there and get to work.” •
