Trevor’s miracle: Injured Tarpon now out of the hospital

Philip John McMahon, 84, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at noon on Monday, Sept. 28, 2015.

Mr. McMahon was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He was a graduate of LSU Law Center, and he practiced law as an attorney at the McMahon & McCollum Law Firm with his late colleague Edmund McCollum. In addition, Mr. McMahon served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. He was a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity, member and chairman of the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana, member the Board of Directors for the Regional Military Museum in Houma, member and past president of the Terrebonne Parks and Recreation, past president of the Terrebonne Quarterback Club, member of the Board of Directors for Coastal Conservation Association and past member of the Terrebonne Parish Bar Association.


Mr. McMahon is survived by his spouse, Beverly McMahon; sons, Webster (Vickie), Neal (Michelle) and Philip (Lynn) McMahon; daughters, Sharon (Jim) Mailey and Susan (Matt) Palmer; brothers, Dan (Polly) and John (Barbara) McMahon; sister, Nancy (Charles) Pecot; and nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Regional Military Museum on 1154 Barrow Street, Houma, LA, 70360.

A private burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2 on a later date.
