Schane Rillieux

COLLEGE HOOPS • FIFTH-YEAR SENIOR • POINT GUARD

Name: Schane Rillieux

Height: 6’0

Weight: 180

School: Nicholls State University

Grade: I’m a senior. This will be my last go with our team. It’s my fifth season with the program. I sat out last year with an injury.

Position: I am our starting point guard.

Strengths: Schane Rillieux is one of the best ball handlers and floor generals on a Nicholls team that is guard-heavy. Rillieux has been a four-year starter for the Colonels, which has made him a Nicholls starter for more than 100 games in his career.

Best sporting achievement: At Brother Martin, my teammates and I were blessed to win the 2009 Class 5A State Championship. Here at Nicholls, we’ve had a lot of adversity, but we’ve always pushed forward. I’m proud of coming back off an injury and returning for my senior season.

Why Nicholls?

I just appreciated all of the things Coach (J.R) Piper and the rest of the staff were telling me. The people here felt like they were family, and it was something that I wanted to be a part of. I’m glad that I made the decision to be part of the Nicholls family. It’s something I’ve cherished.

Credentials:

Over the past five seasons, Schane Rillieux has been one of the faces of Nicholls basketball. A four-year starter, Rillieux has been an instant-impact player for the Colonels, dating back to when he signed with the program out of Brother Martin. Rillieux is the Colonels’ floor general and starting point guard, a position that he’s held since enrolling at the school.
