Shirley Ann Smith Bergeron, 80, a native of Crowley, La., and resident of Houma, La., died on Thursday, May 5, 2016.

A parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Mrs. Bergeron was a bookkeeper for A&P Supermarket for more than 20 years. She served as commissioner-in-charge of the election polls at Village East Elementary School for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sports.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mel Bergeron; son, Troy (Joy) Bergeron; daughters, Toni (Gary) Hutchinson, Angel (Billy) Leedy and Kelly Bergeron; sister, Charlene (Allen) Begnaud; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


Burial is Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Houma. (Falgout)
