Edith Babin Mongrue, 92, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Luling, La., died Tuesday, June 10.


She is survived by her son, Lethien E. Mongrue Jr.; daughter, Barbara M. Sumrall; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lethien E. Mongrue Sr.; her parents, Desire’ and Amelia Guidry Babin; sons-in-law, Vance Troxler and Charles H. Sumrall; daughter, Sylvia M. Troxler; brothers, Gaston, Willie “Bill”, Leo, Ferdinand, Blaize, Harold and Edward “Eddie” Babin; sisters, Louise Hebert and Bernice Talbot; and grandson, Ted Julian Troxler.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling. Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church and mass will be at 11 a.m. She will be buried at St. Charles Cemetery.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
