On November 29, 2023, shortly before 2:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a serious injury crash involving a bicyclist on Louisiana Highway 1 near West 54th Street. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 66-year-old Henry Savoie of Larose.
