Trahan’s Heating and Air Conditioning has been the go-to business for air conditioning and heating services in the Bayou Region for over 50 years. From new construction installs to repair and maintenance on your existing system, the expert technicians at Trahan’s make sure to keep your home or business comfortable no matter the season. Brandon Trahan, third-generation owner of Trahan’s, pushes each day to continue the legacy left to him by his dad and grandfather.

What led you to the role you currently hold in your company?

“Trahan’s Heating and Air Conditioning was started by my grandfather, Nelson Trahan, 54 years ago with the goal of providing exceptional customer service to local homeowners needing air conditioning and heating service. Following my grandfather’s retirement, my dad and uncle gained ownership of the company and carried on the customer-first business model he had started. I began working for Trahan’s right out of high school and was excited to see the company expand to both residential and commercial service. When my dad and uncle made the decision to retire, it seemed only fitting that I would be the one to keep the business going as the third generation of the Trahan family.”

Did you see yourself in this position when you started out in the work force?

“I was born into Trahan’s. The company is in my blood. It has always been important for the company to continue what my grandfather started: making our customers our top priority. Closing the family business was never an option, and I am proud to carry on the tradition.”

What is the biggest challenge you have faced over the years and how did you meet it?

“Through the years, the biggest challenge has been managing the ongoing changes in the HVAC industry. Advances in technology have brought about new changes to the systems we install. We have met these challenges by keeping up with the latest technology and furthering our education at schools and programs offered by HVAC manufacturers and suppliers.”

Other than your phone, what is something you need to get through each workday?

“Without a positive attitude and, more importantly, a great crew backing me, I would not be able to get through the workday. I remind all of my employees to take pride in their work and to do every job like it is their own.”

What has been your greatest accomplishment?

“My biggest accomplishment is keeping our third generation family business going strong, and I plan to keep it that way with the support of our loyal customers. I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for my family’s support. That is why it is important for me to teach my employees how I was taught.”
