Houma men arrested on drugs and weapons charges, after vehicle pursuit through the eastside of Houma

TPSO announced the arrest of pair of Houma men for numerous traffic, illegal drugs, weapon possession, and resisting an officer related charges, after an attempted traffic stop led Authorities on a vehicle pursuit through areas on the Eastside of Houma yesterday. Thankfully, the injured driver and occupants of the vehicle struck by Brooks are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries. The Deputy injured during this incident is also recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Fugitive Carrying Drugs is Arrested After Jumping into Bayou Trying to Elude Deputies

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of a fugitive who jumped into Bayou Lafourche in an effort to try to elude deputies. Tyron Rainey, 34, of Gray was found to have a variety of drugs and cash following his arrest on Tuesday. The bag Rainey had been carrying contained several suspected narcotics including approximately 98 grams of heroin, 15 individually wrapped backs of marijuana, over 600 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and approximately $4,000 in cash.

State Police Investigation Leads to Arrests in Drug Trafficking Organization

In January 2024, detectives from the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division-Houma Field Office launched an investigation into a drug trafficking organization distributing multiple narcotics across Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Mary, and Avoyelles Parishes. Seven individuals were arrested in Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes.

LDWF Agents Cite Four Subjects for Oyster Violations in Terrebonne Parish

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) enforcement agents cited four subjects for alleged oyster harvesting violations on May 11 in Terrebonne Parish. Agents cited Daniel Naquin, 33, of Chauvin, Daniel Alvarez, 26, of Hopedale, Dustin Boquet, 26, of Chauvin, and Wayne Lafollette, 32, of Chauvin, for taking oysters from an unapproved area.

Former Art Teacher Found Guilty of Sexually Abusing Student

Lafourche Parish District Attorney Kristine Russell has announced that Ralph Cheramie Jr., 64, a former art teacher from south Lafourche, has been found guilty as charged by a twelve-person Lafourche parish jury for Molestation of a Juvenile, Sexual Battery when the Victim is Under 13, and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile Under 13 after a three-day trial.

Two men arrested in Burglary investigation, spanning Terrebonne and Lafourche

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a pair of Houma men, in connection with a ring of mini storage burglary investigations, that spanned multiple businesses throughout Terrebonne and Lafourche Parish. Brett Anthony Bergeron, 29, and Robert Thomas Matthews, 25, were arrested for multiple charges associated with the investigations.

Detectives Investigating Friday Afternoon Shooting in Raceland

LPSO detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred shortly after noon on Friday, April 26, 2024, in the area of Ayo Street in Raceland. The shooting involved two vehicles. No injuries were reported. Shortly after the incident, several schools in the Raceland area were placed on lockdown for a short time out of an abundance of caution.
