Nicholls students Caleb Lewis and Eurico Cosme Da Silva Neto were selected to be in Cohort 3 of University of Louisiana System’s Reginald F. Lewis Scholars Program.

Hall of Distinction candidates, who need not have attended or graduated from Nicholls, must have distinguished themselves in service and leadership by playing an active role in supporting Colonel Athletics.

The Nicholls Foundation received $500,000 from Mr. Lew Wilson and Linda Satterlee Myers to replace all exterior windows on Dr. O. Cleveland Hill Hall. The Myerses will receive the naming rights to the Department of Elementary Education in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, which will become “The Linda Satterlee Myers and Lew Wilson Myers Department of Elementary Education.”
Nicholls political science major and criminal justice minor Lizeth Tobias-Garcia is part of the 15 college students selected to participate in the 2023 cohort of the Governor’s Fellows Program in Louisiana Government.
“In 20 years, Nicholls geomatics has established itself as the flagship program in Louisiana for land surveying education. The program has been recognized by NCEES as a top ten program in the nation for 2016, 2017 and 2021,” said Dr. Esra Tekdal Yilmaz, department head of applied sciences and associate professor of geomatics.
