Marty J. Chabert, Elodie Brown Chabert and their children Noelle, Gabrielle and Cameron contributed to the Nicholls Foundation to create the Elodie Brown Chabert Scholarship. Nicholls State University Awarded 620 Degrees at Spring 2024 Commencement
Nicholls State University awarded 620 degrees during its spring 2024 commencement ceremonies. Of the degrees awarded, 60 were summa cum laude graduates (at least 3.90 GPA), 46 were magna cum laude graduates (3.7-3.899 GPA), 73 were cum laude graduates (3.5-3.699 GPA) and 21 graduate students earned their masters degrees with graduate honors.

The Colonels were eliminated from the Corvallis Regional with a 3-0 loss to Tulane on Saturday afternoon. Nicholls ends the season with a 38-22 overall record.
Colonels’ Epic Comeback Ends in Heartbreak against UC Irvine
Trailing 9-1 after four innings, the Nicholls State University baseball team mounted a comeback against UC Irvine and took the lead with a ninth-inning three-run home run by Edgar Alvarez, but the Anteaters escaped with a 13-12 walk-off victory in the opening game of the Corvallis Regional Friday afternoon at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. The Colonels will take the field today against Tulane at 3pm CT.

University Receives Largest-Ever Investment to Expand Nursing Program and Naming Rights to Thibodaux Regional Health System School of Nursing at Nicholls State University
The Nicholls College of Nursing will be formally named the Thibodaux Regional Health System School of Nursing at Nicholls State University after a $10M contribution from Thibodaux Regional Health System. The naming right commenced with approval from the ULS Board of Supervisors and is set to continue for 10 years.
Nicholls State University Provides Car Chargers
This was made possible through a $24,000 grant under the Volkswagen Mitigation Trust Agreement that funded the purchase, installation and maintenance of the car chargers. The Level 2 light duty electrical vehicle supply equipment chargers are available for use 24/7 to anyone who owns an electric vehicle.
