TPSO announces new Criminal Patrol Division

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet is pleased to highlight a recently formed division within the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, created to target a more enhanced concentration in our Patrol Division based operations.  The unit, formally known as the Criminal Patrol Division, has seen many changes since its nearly one-year inception, but the new division has come full circle to where it is today.

USS KIDD Prepares for Overhaul: Historic WW2 Destroyer set to be towed towed from Baton Rouge Downtown Riverfront to Houma Shipyard

For the first time in over 40 years, the USS Kidd has been extracted from her “cradle” on Baton Rouge’s downtown riverfront and prepared for tow to the Thoma-Sea Marine Constructors (TMC) shipyard in Houma, LA, where she will undergo a comprehensive overhaul. USS Kidd’s last overhaul was in 1962, which underscores the importance of this effort.

Local organization donates special care items to help SVU victims

On Monday, a local group known as the Gamma Chapter of Kappa Kappa Iota, delivered stuffed animals and children’s books to the Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) of the TPSO. The items will be utilized and given to children that are encountered during the course of difficult investigations.

Nicholls State University Provides Car Chargers

This was made possible through a $24,000 grant under the Volkswagen Mitigation Trust Agreement that funded the purchase, installation and maintenance of the car chargers. The Level 2 light duty electrical vehicle supply equipment chargers are available for use 24/7 to anyone who owns an electric vehicle.
